“i must have flowers, always and always” claude monet

My story

My story is hardly a story. Would that I could write like Miss Austen. But I cannot. I can, however, embroider and arrange floral designs to the best of my abilities. I discovered my love for everything floral about the time I graduated college with my Illustration degree. I had then completed my exploration of Austen’s main novels (a journey that started in eighth grade) and decided on a favorite painter: Monet.

Well, I have a decidedly brown thumb when it comes to any real gardening. But I found I could draw and paint flowers quite well. Then I tried my hand at arranging fake flowers in wreaths, and vases and found that very satisfying. And a few years back I remembered how my grandmother had taught me at a young age to cross-stitch. My wandering mind is not so great with counting large quantities of Xs however, so I explored the wider range of stitches that make up ‘embroidery’ and found it suited my floral proclivities very well indeed.

an excuse to binge.

All of my projects and pieces are completed whilst watching and rewatching Austen adaptations and other period dramas. These are, of course, ample inspiration for my current aspirations of becoming an accomplished regency era gentlewoman.

I hope you can join in on my little endeavor. I aim to please, aesthetically at least. My pieces I hope can bring a little peace, calm, or pleasant energy to a room in your home. For, after all, “There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.” Jane Austen.
